Curriculum
The course consists of 4 modules totaling 16 hours. The course is taught through live classes over a period of 4 weeks.
Those who complete this course with at least 75% of attendance will be awarded a digital certificate of 16 hours of Expert in Money Laundering Prevention issued by Washington & Lincoln University.
Module I: General Overview of Money Laundering
- Origin of money laundering.
- Historical evolution of money laundering in Brazilian legislation and its current classification.
- Overview of the national anti-money laundering system: prevention; repression and asset recovery.
- Macroeconomic effects of money laundering.
Module II: Law 9613 – Criminal Aspects of the Money Laundering Law
- Legal interest protected.
- Analysis of the criminal offense: principal and equivalent offenses.
- Subjective element; intent and the theory of willful blindness.
- Main typologies of money laundering: main methods used and modus operandi, front organizations, tax havens, offshore companies.
Module III: Procedural Aspects of the Law and Asset Recovery
- International legal cooperation.
Module IV: Administrative Duties under the Money Laundering Law
